
People mostly intend to inhale shallow breathes. They breathe from their chest instead from diaphragm or belly. But, the correct way of breathing is to breathe from your belly not chest or shoulders. I would like to mention two exercises to be done on daily bases at-least twice a day.
- Leaky tyre Breathing
- 4-7-8 Breathing
Leaky Tyre Breathing:
1 - Sit with your back straight
2- Inhale through your nose.
3- Hold your breathe
2- Inhale through your nose.
3- Hold your breathe
4- Exhale through your mouth by joining your upper and lower rows of teeth and open your mouth making sound of rattle snake or leaky Tyre.
4-7-8 Breathing:
1 - Sit with your back straight.
2 - Inhale through your nose for a mental count of 1 - 4.
3 - Hold your breathe for a mental count of 1 - 7
4 - Exhale through your mouth for a mental count of 1 - 8
Note: According to Dr.Weil, during whole 4-7-8 Breathing exercise. Tip of your tongue should be placed back of the upper row teeth to gain more energy. And you would exhale by making whoosh sound. Above 4 steps would lead you to one complete breathe cycle and you are allowed to do it 3 more making 4 complete breathe cycles. If you are doing it right, your tummy pushes out as you inhale and contracts as you exhale. Enjoy!!!
